Did the amount in litres change? Or did the projection for how long current load last changed?
Second is natural thing when driving in and out lap with Max push level. Tho a change of more than 1 lap seems too much.

This is a far more normal phenomenon than most of us imagine.

Upon changing my racing habits, where now I use my PL's to their full potential and not just to manage tire temp.

This strategy causes a lot of fluctuations in my fuel management.  Fuel needed to complete the scheduled stint either goes up or down. Of course we all know this is largely cause by your PL management and/or track characteristics at the time. I then do what most of us do; manage on the fly.

I can tell you I don't race to save fuel.

I’ve noticed that in quick races the notice of a driver running out of fuel, yet they stil went around a couple more corners to win the race
