So last season in our league I finished as 5th overall, so I wasn't promoted to the elite, which is fine because that would be my 3rd overall season and I would've been under developed and beaten hard.

This season, even though I missed out on the first 3 races, I spent my upgrade points and all, but somehow I finish as 8-9th consistently even though we only have 4 new teams. My car settings are perfect, strategies are more or less the same as last season, I keep the tyre temperature in the middle, there's even a team that has worse driver, worse car and beats me by 30s.

There are some other intersting things that I don't know about.

Like how the tyre is performing better as the it wears down. Not even joking, my pace is better with each lap, even at 15%.
No, it's not that the grip on the track gets better, because when I pit for fresh it slows down. Like for example if I pit for SS for the last 10-15 laps, I perform worse than I did with 20-25% soft tyres.

Also I heard that a driver's talent matters a lot, and it worths more than any other stat, it's almost like a multiplier. But there were multiple occasions when I was beaten by a 1-talent driver with other stats being around 10-12 (my driver was like 8 talent but 8-9 other stats), and I even had one of the best cars in that season, while they didn't. And again, it wasn't about strategy, they outpaced me with hard tyres while I had soft, and it wasn't like they could go full on those tyres and I couldn't, because I could easily push those softs.

Driver Stamina may be your downfall?? Along with maybe not developing the car in the right areas??

This is the weight of the vehicle dropping as it burns the fuel, thats what makes the car faster towards the end of stints, not tyre life

Again, this to me sounds like your drivers lack stamina, train them to lose weight and increase in stamina as the NUMBER 1 priority.  20 stamina low weight driver with all 7s will whoop a 2 stamina high weight driver with much higher talent

I've read both the beginner and the advanced guide, and I just can't point out what's going on. And it doesn't really answer my questions

Ok, I think Craig's post addressed most of your issues.

It's hard to really pinpoint what if anything you need to do different. There are over 50 different factors per manager's racing style x the number of managers you race against. You do the math.... You can look after your Car design, driver's training(if needed), pits strategy and even manage on the fly while on live races....However, I guarantee you that without the right data that's an impossible task. As you become more familiar with the game all of this will make more sense to you.

In the mean time following Craig's advice is a solid start.

Happy gaming!

based on what you mentioned, you should try to understand the tires better. Top Managers drive them just in Really rare situations under 40% because they lose massive speed, i for example try to not drive them under 50% as often as possible, because thats the first rate from where they lose speed. they do not get faster it looks to you like that because of the weight effect based on less fuel towards the end of a stint. if you would compare times with a fresh tire and same amount of fuel you could see it.
The change of your results can be based on the improvement of other managers, Maybe they are more active, Maybe they improved their strategy, and so on...
