I was wondering that in a rookie league at 100% distance if a two stop race is better than a three stopper.  My last race the winner did two stops and my team did three but they finished 3 and 4.

Depends on the weather conditions and the track, you really need to study the lap times at the different weights of fuel load, and how the tyres are used. No point trying to take a set of soft tyres to 25 laps if the pace in the last 5 of those laps is horrific. And switching to the mediums may lose you time over soft runners, one because the tyres are slower, and 2 because you now have 15 or more KG of weight in the car. So unless you can make that back by not pitting an extra time then its all a bad idea.

The above however is not always true, some tracks mediums set faster laps than softs, and for longer too.

At one race last season i was actually debating doing a 4 stop in the rain as running low fuel was just SOO much faster that i could easily make up the time lost by pitting an extra time by doing a really short stint, i bottled it in the end but i was very curious about doing it.
