Ran every two hours or so? No wearing on parts (or is that not possible?), no driver atrophy, no driver or staff training, no prize money, no HOF elo -> Just racing against whoever enters the race for nothing but fun.

Is something like public races possible?

I like the idea of this a lot. Reminds me of sim racing, doing open server races outside of league racing.

It'd be fun.

And a good way to quickly learn the game as well.

add "automatic setup". because if you can setup your car it looks like free practice instead of fun race :D

I would say no to automatic setup because people would want to use the fun races for testing strats and tyre choices etc :D

if you can setup your car people will also use those races to test things. no ?

I think the solution for that is have all the cars be spec. Identical setup and condition, but leave the pit strategy open for adjustments.

How can you have identical setups though? Some drivers would have perfect setups and some would have completely messed up ones (for their drivers I mean)

I didn't think of that. In that case, maybe give every driver their personal ideal setup, but don't show it to the manager?

Idenical setups would be like IROC racing. I wouldn't be against that. Great drivers adapt. :P
