(searched forum before posting)

It is clear to me that it takes more and more designers to upgrade as the performance of a part increases (e.g. a part at 90% takes more designers to get to next level as compared to a part at 30%). However, only current season performance is used as the criterion, even if I shift full focus to next season. For example: if current season part is at 90% and next season part is at 30%, I still need as many designers for next season focus as I do for current season focus. Is there a reason behind this or maybe the designer count should depend on a weighted mean of current and next season performance?

Thanks for reading,
AP

Edit: Posted in wrong section. Can a mod please move it to gameplay? Thanks.

The theory behind this is that you have to sacrifice one or the other. Either you're competitive this season, or you plan for the next. It's aggravating, yes, but the idea was to keep one team from dominating every season. In practice, it doesn't work that way very often because the best teams figure out ways to get around it.

Anyway, someday this will all go away in favor of a new design philosophy.

I thought spying would be sufficient to make sure no one dominates season after season. But you're right, spending more time with the game shouldn't give you better chances of winning.

This is being addressed in the next update.
But in the meanwhile I don't see why spending more time with the game shouldn't give you an advantage - I'm confused!

Let me paraphrase that - spending more time with the game shouldn't guarantee eventual dominance.

At the moment what you should be doing, especially with the Level 8 Facilities is this.

As soon as season starts, Spy who you are sure has the highest % car that season at the start.

Set your Design to next Season.

Once Next Season Design has reached 40-50, switch to 'This Season'

Deploy all your reversed engineered components earned via spying. (Only when Step 3 has been reached)
This allows you to do the following things:

Have a balanced car for the beginning of the season

Allow you to excel early-mid season on your car and slingshoot yourself into the points if you arn't already

Give you a car next season with great starting stats.

Allow you to have a 100% This Season and 50-60% Next Season by the end of the current season.
