I have race on Wednesday, but forecast shows weather only for Thursday - Sunday, how should I predict the conditions for the race?

I believe the forcasts show the weather for the location time, not local time.  So if the race is in AUS and you live in UK it will say it's thursday when for you it's only wed.  

Someone correct me if I am wrong :)
