The only person who can answer this is Jack. I believe he will be making an announcement in due course. Anything anyone else says until then is speculation.

I got 10 XP, I was surprised to find the daily reward, without any announcement before.
One remark about it, it's not that much visible.
I usually don't look at the "news" section, I expected something more like the in-app ads, next/below the "Quick Race" button and it disappears once you have it.

I got 2 parts and 300k something in cash. Since I got 600m+ and lots of parts, I basically got next to nothing ;-)

As where the placement is, it's no different than when there's a special available to buy a pack of coins/cash. I can see it on my S8 just fine when I go to the home page.
