Im confused. My drivers are maxed for the level I’m at and have the most designed car. Yet 2 other teams in my league are destroying me (currently) with a lower drivers and car. Any suggestions? Cause it’s not making sense

You have played longer than me but anyway, you do know about the big four right (ACC/BRK/HAN/DWN)? Are those stats better than your rivals? I can see that your driver weight and stamina are about the same as the guys driver that beat you in the last race, but i hope you are only training physical on both your drivers right now? You want stamina to 20 and weight to 51 (46 for girls), not before that should you focus on Driving ability and then Mental. Also, your Chief Designer is bad. Reliability is the worst trait to have. She/he should have a bonus in one of the big four as i mentioned above, and a negative in reliability or cooling (I think) or something. Go check the beginner and advance guide in the help and support forum.

Yeah sorry if you already knew all that what I pointed out. I wish you luck though :)

EDIT: Also, did you have the same tyre strategy? Are you managing your push levels and such? And how much wear do you generally have when you pit? It should rarely go much below 50% /EDIT

What about your HQ technology?  Do the other drivers/teams have better DRS/KERS maybe?

Definitely appreciate the comment. Will change CD. My car is top in most of the big 4 points. Just the gap has grown so big it hasn’t really made sense. Should be much closer considering comparison of both myself and the other top team.. may need to change drivers..

-my headquarters is getting there.. have been making moves to get more points and better drs/kers. Don’t think his is better. When I look at the times per lap.. his progressively get fast and mine seesaws. I was lapped last race with a better team. Just doesn’t make sense

Also. Where is the advanced tutorial? Couldn’t find it under search

If you are running the same fuel level and tyre compound, It sounds to me that he is managing his push level better (he keeps his tyres in the black area (between blue and red). If your tyres overheat you will lose TONS of time.

I only played 5 races in this game, I joined half way through race one, missed race 2 and attended entire race 3. I managed to just get in to the top 10 in those 3 races. Then I went to the forum and read more or less everything.. kicked all my staff and drivers and got new ones according to suggestions. Then I won race 4 and 5. Note that my car is way inferior to ALL the others, because I joined the league in race 11/17 so had alot of catch up to do.

I think it is my push level management and tyre and race strategy that was good.
I am not sure if you know how to calculate tyre life properly? Sorry if you do but here is how I do it:

1. First look at the practice runs tyre wear per lap. I make sure to run all the compounds at least once to get the data. For my last race my tyre wear for super soft was 19%.

2. Open notepad and calculator and do this:
SS
Lap 1 100-19%=81
Lap 2 81-19%(15,39)=65,61
LAP 3 65,61-19%(12,47)=53,14
LAP 4 53,14-19%(10,10)=43,04
LAP 5 43,04-19%(8,18)=34,86

EDIT: Sorry, in Ssweden we use the comma as decimal separator, I forgot that this was in english. You should still get the idea :D /EDIT

So after 5 laps my tyre will only have 34.86% life left, basically dead. I did the same calculations for the other compounds and found out that IF I ran the super softs I would have to do 2 runs on mediums. And the temperatur was 29 degrees so quite hot for SS- So I decided to go :
Soft pit after 7 laps 47% tyre left
Med Pit after 11 laps with 48% tyre left
Soft 8 laps to the end and finish with 43% tyre left

Also, don't fuel too heavy, trust the numbers.

I know this might seem like alot of work to sit and do manually. I don't have excel on my computer or id do a formula that calculated the wear. I am sure one of the top managers have one but probably keeping it secret :P Manually works good enough though :)

No idea if this will help you but if not, maybe someone else

Tyre management and fuel weight manipulation is as much a factor as the stats. That involves use of push levels. In some cases, I will reduce push level just to catch lapped traffic in the DRS activation zones.

Good point.

One of the most frustrating things when your driver laps someone just before DRS, and you then get unlapped.....

Hiya Geoffrey,

Having read your post, i think we all feel your pain and understand what you are going through.

For some insight into that the Developers have said this link is worth a read, especially page 2 where Jack Basford (IGP Manager Founder) responds to some of the points raised.

Happy reading, and if you still have questions, post them as that's what the forum is for.

Regards

Sean

Had this too many times?

Geoffrey - do you repair your car, is your drivers health 100%, do you do soft strategy, do you have good headquarters?
