Number/Placement wrong in race

Just recently, during the last and most previous season of mine (last 20 or so races) I have noticed that the in game number/placement of drivers is very wrong and stays wrong. (ie. 1st place shows as #4, 2nd place as #18, etc.) It's very random placement, and I noticed it has nothing to do with League placement either.
This is on both PC and mobile application.
I've attempted to uninstall/reinstall to see if that would remedy, but it did not.
Does anyone else notice this?
Any help or update on bug causing this would be appreciated.

What you describe is the car number. Is this random number on the car icons?
If that's true you have to go into the race viewer and go to the settings. There is the setting "car icon text". You have to set this to "car position".
