Driver Experience Attribute

How detrimental to performance is it? And when does it matter most?

Have read the guides. It points out it is important. 

However, my less experienced drivers seem to perform equal or better on similar strats. 

Dude don`t loose sleep over driver`s exp attributes... They are not detrimental.
At best, it only matters when they are controlled by AI.
Otherwise your drivers follow your moves during live races.

Experience doesn't do anything much tbh my drivers with less experience is beating my driver with more experience

OK, but are you guys talking live or on their own? 

I'm in a 1-car league so my only driver is only 7 in exp. 
I'm mostly top 10 the majority of times and get spanked when I'm not at the races.  We'll see if things change or how they change as her exp goes up.

Attend every race except if I'm not able to maybe i just manage my lower experience driver better in race or the height does something because of ride height, not sure
