Hi,

Anyone else enjoyed the first grand prix of the season in melbourne?
Lovely race!
Friends of the BBC saved me with a very extensive "highlight-show", almost a full race.
Amazing that they can be at the track in australia for a highlights show.

In the Netherlands we now have to pay for F1, but dutchies are traditionally known for making those projects fail. We sleep on our money, or well, its culture.
Paid soccer channels are having a very hard time as well, a couple have failed and the current one isn't making healthy profit.

Cheers!

Yes!!! Loved the first Race...Not a boring Race...hopefully a open season for most top teams....Happy to see lots overtaking and A winner with a better strategy rather then a Faster Car

better driver rather then faster car, that's what I hope for this year. That a couple of guys have equal material, so that Vettel can finally be tested and we know how good he is.

I do not understand why mclaren changed their car from last season. The new one looks pretty bad, hopefully it works better on the more standard tracks, melbourne is always a bit unpredictable.

Basiclly explains why http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Dk9o9d4oBz8.

The crux of their issue is they cannot find a good setup. As far as my understanding go it relates to the rake/ ride hight they currently have also with then new suspension. The other issue is Ferrari and RBR had this issue last season the problem for Macca is its amplified, the other team around them are a year better. Oh and the next race might be even worse by what Jenson was saying.

I'm gutted for Button...

This could be my last season watching F1.. and I can honestly count on 1 hand how many races I have missed since the mid 80's. :(

I hate all the fakery that is on these cars. They want to get rid of all this downforce so drivers can sit behind another driver.. Look at Sutil and Vettle.. He couldn't get to him because of nothing other than downforce...

Watch 2003 Auz GP and watch the superb overtaking in several corners without all this crap on the front wings.. They look bad and they are patchetic... If I wanted to watch Scaletix then I would go and buy a box and watch the cars going around and around and around... The last few seasons have been very meh.

One of the most icons images in F1 is Senna and Mansell Adelaide 1990 on the straight with all the sparks flying and about a foot between them... That would never happen in todays F1.. Press a power button and open the wing.. yey.. I made a pass.. What ever. that isn't racing... That is just going around a track with a few obsicles in the way..

These are "SUPPOSED" to be the best of the best... Well one of the best things in the past was watching the likes of Senna and Scumi passing traffic.. Now it's a blue light and get out of my way...

Yes it was a good race.. but only by todays standards. They even admit that todays F1 is for the FanBoys and not the real supporters like it was. :(

As a Viewer, old days were best.  In most of the sports, Because of the bold nature of the Players/drivers, Without any Improved technology and safty equipment, Always made a viewer more passionate towards that particular sports. Nowdays we just seeing the next generation of technology or Some kind of money making stuff then Just pure Head to head contest

I wonder whether Button will be able to pull of an Alonso act. Last year the difference between Melbourne and Sepang was well, considerable for Alonso :)

We can't see it Stuart unless we are logged in.

Wouter I really hope Button / McLaren can get it sorted but it's going to be a long season. I think they might go back to last seasons car if they don't have a big step by about race 5... :(

Sorry try that gives you an idea. Its too far down the road to change the car they have to stick with it. Once they find the sweet spot I think they will be up there.
