Do you want to see safety cars added to the game,

Yes
10.83% (13)
Maybe
14.17% (17)
Just try in the quick and then see

I would love to hear your voice and opinion on this.
It’s an idea that’s just come to me.

I never done a poll here, is it possible to edit it? I would vote to "add such a feature as a league option". I personally wouldn't like to race with it, because then you need crashes which would change the game completely. But I don't mind others being able to have it if they like.

I guess it would be fun to try a few times though (not counting towards my driver/manager stats)

You don't necessarily need crashes to bring out a safety car, debris on the track, spectators on the track, weather could all bring it out.
It could be programmed in so that it happens a random number of times at a random number of races for a random number of laps, with certain parameters, maybe a maximum of 10 laps per race, maybe a maximum of 5 races per season and maybe a maximum of 3 times per race.
It's possible.

I don’t know why you think you will have to change the entire game. I’m only suggesting something they could do with the game.

I spend hours to prepare for a race, I think my meticulous planning going through every single parameter I could think of gives me an edge over other managers. A safety car could throw all that planning out of the window depending on where I am on the track compared to my fellow racers when the safety car appear.

One could argue that the safety car is just another parameter that you have to account for which benefits those who can adapt and recalculate. My problem is that I make terrible decisions when I have to make them quick. Safety cars would disadvantage me greatly over others, same with changing weathers. I had one race where the weather changed 15 minutes before the race where it had looked to be staying dry for 24 hours (percipitation probability was about 5%). I made terrible decisions that time.

I don't want safety cars for that reason, I am pretty sure I would be bad at coping with them. Safety cars would change the game from a data analysis and careful planning game towards a quick reaction game a bit.

That being said, I completely understand why people would wan't it, and I too, think it would probably be fun and would like to try it out, hence why I asked if it was possible to add a poll option  "make it a league option". I would vote for that.

Yes but they have them in real life

Totally agree it would enhance the game. Thinking on the fly and reacting to incidents is a huge part of what this game is trying to simulate, if you want a steady predictable course of events then sports generally and motor racing specifically, is not for you. It is poor planning g that can only work in 'ideal circumstances. Generally speaking, I am in favour of bringing more of the challenges that face a team in real races into the game. More realism means more of a challenge. Let's have' offs', variable weather, cars pushing their tyres beyond the limits of grip, and more.... Each of these adds a new level of risk, and risk assessment and management is the essence of strategic planning.

So far all pov`s are more than valid.  And I`d love to see more unpredictability on live races other than rain.

Unfortunately, it`s not that easy to add such an effect without having to revamp all the variables that may or may not effect such incidents.  I can see driver`s attributes needing to have a particular attribute to how well they deal with such events.  Car Designs may be affected by it, or not...Idk.

But let`s assume this is very easily applied, this game has sooooooo many bugs issues and malfunctioning commands that to continue to add more algorithms would be irresponsible and down right negligent in my opinion.

I like the idea simply bc is not far off reality... this is after all a simulation based platform. At some point in the future we`ll see it on races.    So I`d say maybe..

Apart from cleaning up bugs, (a never ending job), what else should they be doing? Gimmicks like quick races are a sideshow, in my opinion, a sports management sim should be constantly moving towards bringing players as close to the feel of running a team in the sport as it can. I think anything else is a distraction at best, a diluting of the core concept at worse. There are loads of gimmick driven racing games out there, good management sims are rare.

Don't you think it's a little selfish, arguing against something which would benefit the game immeasurably, just because you think you might make a poor decision. Think of the game, not yourself

I am voting for myself, not anyone else. So should you. When you rate a movie (if you ever do) are you rating it based what you think everyone else thinks of it or base on what you thought of it?

But if you read my last paragraph I clearly say that I think it would be fun to have it, but as a league option and not mandatory for everyone. I would like to try it but most probably opt out of running in a league that has it enabled.

Done, dude. It would be a good challenging enhancement for the game.

I like the idea, but I think that the crashes aspect of it could be linked to the driver's attributes that crash. That would cut down on what I've heard as "train your drivers in physical, then driving ability, then mental. Maxing each before moving on to the next." If a driver develops DA too much without composure or focus, then they would start being at risk to crash by a mistake.

I would hate to lose a championship that out of my control

My thought is that as long as you train mental along with the physical, you would be safe in that regard. Only when you over train only physical to get faster quicker without the mental to stabilize the driver is when you would have a problem. So the strategy choice would be, get faster quicker with the risk of crashes, or balance the mental along with it for a little slower safer driver development.
