Simulator and the Red Flag

On an occasion there is an issue with the simulator, leading to a crash or mass disconnect from the race.

In such an event, this is where a Red Flag feature could come into play, triggered by the League Manager.

The Red Flag feature would have all cars immediately go to the Grid Slots in the positions at the time of the Red Flag and the lap counter to freeze for that lap.
Once the system comes back online, there would be a 5minute delay triggered by the Race Manager and an oppotunity to refuel and refit tires and front wings.
After the 5minute delay is up, the cars are launched again and the race resumes from the grid on the lap of the red flag, with DRS again enabled 2 laps afterwards.

If a race Red Flags with 90% of the race completed, then the race is over.
If a race Red Flags with less than 20% of the race completed, then the race is restarted from lap 1.

So what do you propose when league managers abuse this function to reign in really fast cars up front?

A league manager doesn't have the ability to stop the race

I think this is a good idea David, but if the servers where stable than it shouldn't be needed. So let's fix the problem please, not some de-tour solution :P

How are the cars going to stop on the grid if the simulator is not working?

How can you click this feature if you are kicked straight out of the sim or the server has crashed?
