Tragic news from F2

It is really sad to come to know about this, but Anthoine Hubert has passed away after succumbing to the injuries he sustained during a high speed crash emerging from Eau Rouge during the Belgian Feature race. All thoughts with his family, what a sad news.

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Secondly do we know whether tomorrow's F2 race and/or the F1 race will go ahead. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of the races would be cancelled due to safety reasons or simply out of respect for Anthoine.

Sad news today in the Motorsports... Antoine Hubert has passed away from his injuries of the multi-car crash on Raidillon (2nd lap). Sending my condolences to his family, friends and fellow race car drivers & to the F2... Personally, I start to think that well not have racing tomorrow...  #RIPAntoineHubert

Formula 2 have announced that the sprint race will not go ahead out of respect.

While it's just difficult to blame FIA for not doing anything to avoid a freak accident like this, but it surely would spark a debate regarding the current level of safety at Spa especially with the speed modern F1-F2 cars travel at. Perhaps gravelling the off track area (since Correa was on throttle in that area,  after he went off track) or building the barriers further away from track might help. 
Any news on Correa? He did suffer a huge impact but thankfully it looked like he did not get in a position to threaten his life

There`s nothing that would take this tragedy away, and we as a global community are morning Antoine Hubert`s passing.
