Strategy option

Apologies if this has been previously submitted but as a new player, this is one aspect that differs greatly from the real thing.... 
I feel it's a bit of a handicap to have to commit to a strategy prior to qualifying. 
Would it not be better to have qualifying say 60-90 minutes prior to the race start so that strategy could be then assessed based on grid position?
Cars could be under Parc ferme regulations once qualifying is complete and training etc locked as it is now. 
Thoughts? 

Yeah, I see your point, and there have been many times I wish I could have set a different strategy once I knew where I was starting but not everyone has chance to check in much before their race time, I know several in our league who only just manage to log in seconds before lights out. Your suggestion would penalise those who are like that. 😕

Weather could also change a lot in those 60 to 90 minutes

Weather changes wouldn't matter as long as strategy doesn't lock until 10 minutes prior to race start. 

I mean, to be fast in quali one should have perfect setup for the weather at that time. For the race, perfect setup could be different. That means setting up twice for one race, 60 or 90 minutes apart. And that wouldn’t work for me.

That wouldn`t work for most of us!!!!  


Strategies can easily be adjusted during live races as well, yet another perk for showing up to races. I`m more than cool the way things are... Qualy is a hit and miss, but I make strategy adjustments if needed once the race starts.
