Where Are All The New Managers

There seems to be no new rookie managers coming through into the leagues.

Is something broken or is the game no longer attracting new players?

Would be good for league managers to know if it's a known issue.

The only known issue regarding new players is how malfunctioning the league-search-filter is and has been for awhile. 

There are criteria that leagues need to meet to show up on a search other than what a player requests on the filter. The level of player searching for a league is also a defined factor. And yes, all of this is not clearly stated or easily found to understand.

The issue continues to linger which is why hosts must become creative to find new managers. The following link is a thread that attracted a lot of top managers and really put a spot light on the issue.  There are a  few more like it, but this is the latest one.  


League Search Filter

That's why when i started up our league initially i went out and seeked other leagues and tried to get us all to join together. It did work and we got two leagues to join and then with that we exploded and now have the three leagues to suit our member needs. We never want to loose managers so we listened to them and run two of the leagues 2 hours apart and our other is only once a week but the guys that race in that are mainly from our 2 leagues that there personal situations have changed. But yes we have had hardly any new rookies come through at all.  

Thanks guys, I just tried searching for my league based on the specific days we race and it didn't come up.

I would rather see issues like this fixed over more circuits.

I will take your suggestion on and get creative with recruitment.

Ben, using the league search, your own league generally does not show up. I've made the same experience and was wondering. But when I searched with another account which I use in a different league I did and do find my league. That somehow makes sense and in this way the league search seems to be working ;o) 

Don't know if I am wrong but I noticed that if you have 13 or more managers in a Tier that attracts new managers to join. Once I deleted too many inactive managers in the Beginners Tier at once so that we had only been 11 or 12 managers there. After that we did not attract any new members for weeks (before I kicked too many managers, people were reliably  joining the same day after I had kicked one or two inactives). 

Since we merged with another league and found rookie tier players, managers are again joining as soon as there's space. The league search seems to prefer listing leagues at the top oftthe results that have a minimum number of managers per tier. 

Your league would be perfect to merge with us, only we have a race only once a week ;o) 

Thanks Hein, I wouldn't mind racing a bit more than once a week at the moment, but who knows, that could always change.
