Extend Points down to P15

Something ive seen alot of people mention in race chat lately is wanting points to go down further positons the fact we have 32 cars on track every race but only 10 of those score points, it wont change the front guys much by changing the points system but it would give the lower guys more chance to score points and to stay motivated to play, if u battle to score that 1 point to avoid relagation each season it can prob become a bit de-motivating to play the game.

i no that teams can have many 11th & 12th place finishes in a 32 car gird and score zero points in season, they would prob score 15-20 points using system below, i think it would be much better to extend he points down to P15.
u wouldnt even have to change it much, the top 4 positions can still get same points, just change it from P5 down to single figures rather than 2 points gap between positions.

It could be something like this.

I think it would make the game better, i no there will be die hard F1 fans that say this isnt the points system in F1 but thats changed many times + F1 doesnt have 32 cars on track rather only 22.

If u like this idea plz comment on it to show its popularity to developers or not positive as the case may be.

Can the developers or some1 involved in this game acknoledge also that they have seen this and are thinking about / def not doing it / will do it etc

Yes i quite like your idea Gary, as the bottom players rarely get enough points and then probably give up and leave.  There needs to be more of a reward.  I would be interested in what others think about this, and how easy it would be to impliment.

With the current size of grids i think this has to be seriously looked at. Like gary said, it can become demotivating not scoring points in a field of 32 when you finish 11th. In real F1 almost half the cars on the grid score so this would align igp more with real f1.

I am in favour of this idea and think it should be implemented.

The points system must be adequate to the grid size, and top 10 cars scoring points is clearly not enough for large grids. One way to resolve this could be introducing a flexible system that would distribute points according to the grid size in the beginning of a season, but that can not be fair in some cases and may have some exploits, so the most simple and correct way to show the difference between a team finishing P11-P12 averagely and a team finishing P31-P32 is extending the points zone down to about P15.

Maybe it's an idea that if at the point the season starts more then let's say 25 cars are on the grid the 15P points system will be used, and if the season is started with 24 cars or less then the 10P system

It should be scaled to the size of the grid. My league has 10 cars. I think rewarding the last places with 7 and 6 points is weird, compared to 'just' 25 for a win. 

Still, I don't think it's so much needed - if you want to compare to real life, Caterham, Marussia (and HRT) didn't score any point either in three seasons. Instead, Caterham celebrated 11th place in the Brazilian GP last year like a point. For the pointless teams, points then become who had most 11th places.  

Another point against this idea: it'd wreck the points per season overview in your career tab, cause the inflation.

The 3 new teams haven't scored a point on a 24 car grid - the situation will be the same for outsiders on a 32 car grid even with extended points system. Since there are leagues with smaller grids, more points should be given for the top positions, though it would not be easy to find the right balance.

The points statistics doesn't mean much since there are a lot of leagues with different schedules and different grid sizes.

Agree with Gary here. Could make it more interesting when titles go down to the wire, more people would have input on who scores what etc.

WSBK use a system similar to this don't they?

I think it's a cracking idea. i know we have some in our league that struggle to get a point and it's only when you get freak results that they then score.
