One of the really frustrating parts of this game is the Qualifying process. Towards the end of the season we can be first in practice then somehow qualify 14th when everyone is on softs for no reason. Please look at this suggestion to add strategy to Qualifying and race.

Have the first 5 laps of practice count as Qualifying laps and add bonuses to the race. Example, Lets say that in Australia I use 1 lap for super softs 1:24.968 and do the rest of the laps on softs and get 1:25.823 as my best, then if I choose to start on softs, my qualifying lap would be 1:25.823.

Adding to that, if someone chooses to try extra laps, lets say up to 10 then lets sell those laps for a gold coin each.

How to add more strategy to practice and qualifying? How about we try this... Add bonuses to laps run with certain tires. Example, lets say I do 1 lap on softs and the last 4 on hards. Then during the race my driver should be more familiar with hards and get bonuses such as +5 per practice lap for the race on acceleration, braking, downforce and handling for example. Even if the car is maxed out, add it to it! That way practice does matter. Now should you want to do this, have the bonuses only apply to the first 5 laps. Should you make extra practice laps available, use those only for quali time as to avoid becoming a "pay to win" game.

One last thing while on the subject. As for drivers attributes, they shouldn't be 20 all the way across the board. The drivers should lose attributes as they age and if not practice regularly. When available or able, please add additional attributes such as "Qualifying pace" "Starts" "In lap out lap speed" "speed on wet" "speed on inters" "tire wear management" "tire temperature management". I feel like adding more attributes like that and enabling attributes to decline would add much more depth to the game.

Well, the quali process is an issue that the developers are thinking about for long time. We already know that when all the managers are with your cars completely developed, the quali becomes a lucky game, and you don't have any idea what will be your position, even if you are level 20 and your driver is full 20 too. So, your suggestion about quali is valid and could work better than the current process. But I fell that mischaracterizes the F1 process and sounds unfair. Because the main event is the quali and not the practice laps. But I have some personal suggestions that are similar that the developers think and could be quite easy to implement.

1 - Less tracks, about 15 or 16 per season, in order to valorize the most developed car in the season. Or raise to 120 the max points on each attribute. Well the fist one is the thing that probably will be implemented in the next update.

2 - The quali process currently is done with the fuel utilized for one lap. The problem is that the haviest car in the first stint could have the best quali than you. So when I have a bad quali and the car is setted to make 3 pits, maybe many cars with better quali than yours can be setted to make just 2 pits, and your race could be over mainly if it's a rainy race. So, in order to prevent this, we must consider in the quali, the fuel setted in the first stint to each car. And so the haviest cars will be probably behind you.

Bernardo, those ideas are AMAZING!

I also think they should put maintenance costs or not allow people to buy staff or drivers if their bank account is not above 0. Once you are level 20, money no longer matters

Like the idea of relating practice to qualifying and race. The more laps in a certain tyre would relate to some sort of advantage in qualifying and race. Doesn’t need to be big. Just rewards a team that gains more data on one set of tyres.

I thought that the idea of practice was to perfect the set up of your car for the race. The trouble is, even for new tracks, the perfect set up gets posted in the forum. It kinda ruins the point of practice, why bother spending 3 coins when you can just look up the set up?
I think a better solution is to randomise the ideal set up so that in one season RH is 10, the following season its 12, the next its 15, then 9 and so on. It should still be close to what's expected, it should never be 32 for example, I'm thinking a variation of 6 higher and 6 lower should be enough to keep everyone guessing.
I know you'll disagree, most of my ideas get shot down but I never give up and I'll never stop making suggestions

The perfect setup can easily be found in 5 practice laps, so there is no point buying the perfect setup.

I never said there was.
But you've hit the nail on the head, the ideal set up, the sweet spot should be hard to obtain. It's too easy.
Randomise it so that it's different each time you come to that track, is the best option. Even if it's because each season your car is a little bit different, each season the ideal set up should be different.

I wonder how much the car design has an influence on the ideal setup for the driver.

The biggest problem sounds like to me is the randomness of a one lap qualifying session. What about a selection of laps chosen by the manager for their drivers, but since in real F1 they use the same tires they qualified with to start, to my understanding as I'm still new to F1 and learning, the same goes here. Chose 4 laps to qualify to get a better lap and you use 4 laps of your starting tires.
