Dry vs Wet setup

Just wondering how the setup of suspension, ride height and wing level actually impacts on car performance during a race.

Yesterday's race I did a completely dry setup. When the race came around it was between 3.5 and 4mm for the entire race yet I won comfortably even with other players doing a wet setup. It seems like those 3 setup stats don't make much of a difference.

Additionally, when I do practice the laps the laps with really bad setup can be faster or as fast as the laps with perfect setup. 

Do those stats make any difference at all? 

Curious as well, theres a lot of tiny details and nuances about this game id like to know, i guess only the devs would really know how it all works. 

There could be quite a lot of factors that effect why you won without changing your set up - better strategy, better condition car, better driver etc...but if everything is equal, thevwet srt up should be quicker.
Quali laps, I think it’s possible to get a faster lap without the perfect set up just by chance - like in real life, you can have good laps and bad laps.

There is also the daily reward that provides perfect setup, it automatically updates the setup for wet conditions, maybe you also where on wet setup.

But you might already know that I suppose.
