On this day 101 years ago, the fighting stopped, the guns were silenced. The men and women who had been fighting for days and weeks on end were finally allowed to leave the warzone. However, not all could return home. Not all could return to see their families again.
Even today, we will remember them. Those who gave the ultimate sacrifice will not be forgottten. Every year, we fall silent, in order to honour those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, not just in the World Wars, but every other war that has gone on, and wars that are still going on today.
Today, we should all stop, and remember those people who couldn't return home...
