Fairly easy call, but given the lack of consistency..... 🤔

"Fairly easy call".
I agree but it still took the FIA 1.5 hours after the race to decide...

I would have call it a racing incident, even though I am following F1 recently.
It was quite open and Lewis did not seem to be that aggressive in his move, Albon dived a bit quickly.

I think the problem here is because it's a restart, everybody was packed and it could have been worst as a result of that.
Also, I think it's hard for the stewards to decide on this kind of situations.
Just 5 seconds put Lewis from P3 to P7, that's quite a penalty.

If i was the fia, i wouldnt have neeeded more than two replays to give Hamilton a time penalty.
Albon deserved the podium, but in that case i wanted carlos on the podium 100 percent

Biggest issue is that it's a post-race penalty. Other series like most American ones, there are no post-race penalties and any penalties should be served during the race itself. Things like Paul Tracy in the 2002 Indy 500 are a diff story however, post-race decision but not a penalty. Senna in 1989 Suzuka is the go-to example regarding the folly of awarding penalties post-race.

So even if Hamilton is awarded a penalty, he and his team should be notified when the race is running that he has this penalty, and thus are able to adjust the decisions they make taking into account the penalty. Yeah his car may be damaged and Gasly put up a wonderful defence, but the way these post-race penalties are dished out, especially ones that come after the podium ceremony is done, aren't the best thing to say the least.

Agreed. McLaren's first podium in over 100 races and they didn't even get to stand on it. There should be a certain pre-determined criteria where if an incident fits into it, its  a penalty. That way, it would only take a few monents to decide if its a penalty.

Mercedes without Toto is a MESS....they got everything wrong Lewis wouldve won if they put him on the right tyres. They put him in a situation where he had to be super aggressive. The Brazilian corners are angled in a way where gou cant ho 2 wide at the corners HAM & RIC turned others around. They had 2 options: turn into the car on their inside, or go wide and lose 1s. They chose to turn in. If a car is on the inside with the other side of gheir car ON THE KERB, its not their fault!
