For the past races i have had constant lag, cars jumping around, not showing splits or lap times, its just wierd. Before the reset i never had this problem

What do you mean it's not showing the splits or lap times?  Do you mean it's just updating them slowly or they are blank or invisible?  Did you have even slightly similar problems before the reset, or is it a complete change?

What kind of internet connection do you have?  Cable / DSL / modem / something else?  Also any idea what speed it is?  8mbps / 512kbps / 56kbps / anything else?

What kind of computer are you using, and specifically do you have any idea what kind of graphics device it has?

Thanks

Well the splits just wont show up at all, it just has the splits for a few laps ago, and same with lap times. If i close the page and re-open it, it shows the lap times but then just 'freezes' again so im getting no updates. Before the reset is ran perfect, i had no such problem.

Also im using a modem, i have no idea about the speed, but ill find out later :P

Erm, as for the computer...
Intel Pentium dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00ghz 2.00ghz
RAM 2.00gb
Windows 7
Graphics card is some HDI Radeon 5750.

I will be getting some new CPU etc either today or tomorrow so i will see if that fixes any of the problems for sundays race.

Thanks a lot.  Your computer itself is easily powerful enough so I don't expect your new hardware will change much here.  If you have a 56k modem then that might be a little bit concerning, although even that should be powerful enough in gereal.

I can't yet see what might have changed that would have this kind of effect.  If you still have these problems next race, could you use the Bug Report button in the viewer?  That will give me some diagnostic info as well as whatever you type in. Thanks.

"Andrew
If you have a 56k modem

God gracious ! Who on earth uses a 56k modem anymore ? Up until spring I had an optical fiber connection of 100 mbit. I moved since then and to the new location I have a cable connection of only 5 mbit. It's still enough, yet I feel severely crippled.

This happened to me last night, i got thrown back to the 'connecting' screen and once that had happened it all just started to go wrong. I would get no splits or times and it would throw me back to the connecting page very often. Before that it would run perfectly.

Ah, that's useful to know.  That should help explain what is going wrong.  Thanks.

Good to hear, but as it happens I noticed the problem you were describing on one of my own computers yesterday.  The cars jump about a lot, the times don't update, and chat doesn't work.  Has anyone else noticed this problem?

In your case I think the change I made to the rendering system may have increased the efficiency of the viewer enough to stop the problem happening on your computer.  Keep me posted if you experience it again though.  If you aren't too concerned about seeing a race all the way through, could you refresh the viewer (easiest way is by clicking in the address bar then pressing F5) during a race and then see if the problem appears again.  Refreshing will simulate whatever happened when you were thrown to the "Connecting" screen before.

By the way, you mentioned you were getting a computer upgrade.  Did that happen or are you still on the Intel Pentium dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00ghz 2.00ghz, RAM 2.00gb, Windows 7, HDI Radeon 5750?
