Transfer knockout rounds

Im still not certain how the knockout rounds of the transfers work. Say its 20 second round if you bid on the 12second and a few people bid after you do you still go in next round, or is it say the top 5 people bid last go into the next round? 

Everyone that bids goes through to the next round. For example, if you bid in Round 1, you go through to Round 2 etc. 
 If you do not bid in a round, you are OUT.

Also when your in the knockout rounds what's the idea of the money symbol next to the 1 coin bid button. when i was  bidding  my coins was getting lower each time but my money wasn't. Is it what you pay if you win? 

The tokens are deducted every time you bid, no matter if you win the auction or not. 
Money is only deducted if you win the auction.
