I dont even understand whats going on, i see the lap times of drivers that are like 3-4seconds per lap faster, just randomly it doesnt make sence.

Do you mean 3-4seconds per lap faster throughout the race, or do you mean cars suddenly have that big a difference on a particular lap?  If you could give me the ID for the race and any relevant cars that\'d be very helpful.  Best thing to do is give me the link to the post-race data for any of the relevant cars. E.g.: http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=race-result/10/21664.  Thanks.

Well some laps the drivers will be doing all similar times, but then randomly out of nowhere they will go like 3seconds faster one lap. It was a huge problem at this race:http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=race-result/7#race If you look at the top two cars (ID:8312, 21664) they are just so much faster than anybody, but on the same tyres. (This was also a wet race, which seems to be where i have found most of the problems before, it was said to be light rain, but full wets were around 2seconds faster per lap which seemed odd)
It could be that the drivers are of such low quality, but it just seems strange to me.

Maybe some of the low drivers have a good wet ability.

If you\'re referring to the really fast final lap for both drivers, that\'s almost certainly due to KERS.  I bet Jesse used up all of his KERS on the final lap.

KERS already? There  was a full reset or not?

Jesse definitely doesn\'t have KERS, nobody does. It\'s too soon after the reset.

Good point, of course!  In that case the huge jump in lap time is concerning.  I wonder if Jesse has any idea why this happened...

I had saved my tires for the entire stint up until that point and only pushed hard for the final lap.

It wasnt only that lap though, in general Jesse and some other would be a good 1-2 secs faster in most the laps.

So were you on \"Back Off\" to start with?  That explains some of the jump, but I\'m surprised it\'s quite that significant.  The fact that your tyres were cold before you shifted to push hard helps explain this though.  So perhaps the direct benefit of pushing plus warmer tyres plus some luck could make for a 3s improvement.

Joe: Answering that kind of question categorically is a bit tricky just now.  I\'m working on a system that will be able to show exactly why one driver is performing better than another.

It does seem a quite significant for race 4 of season 1 in an equal playing field. It\'s impressive if it\'s all down to the management aspect, but also a bit of a concern actually for the spread of the field. I could see these kind of gaps early on being demotivating for others.

Expanding on these gaps so early on, high level elite cars and drivers would surely be in the region of 10-20s per lap faster, which seems a bit too broad also.

In the past races (apart from race 1) using back off results in like 1-2secs slower lap time, which just isnt even worth it. In the first race (Which was dry) I would use back off and it worked great, but since these wet races it just seems like nothing works and everything is random.

In that case your tires should be too cold to generate that speed.

I can not bore my times are slower than 3s the two leaders .... Already saw that my car has more upgrades than theirs. I qualify in pole position, and then look like a wagon.

It\'s hard to believe that the difference lies in the pilots, and that this difference is so huge. My two drivers are level 5 talent. But they are weak in other respects, but still I\'m finding very high this difference ....

In the last race I tried a few rounds of soft and not good. I took advantage on the first lap only. In the second already have equal time and then flew ... It seemed the Red Bull against the Lotus.

I feel the same, I qualify upfront race by race, yet I am outpaced in the race. I have some ideas though where this may come from. It\'s not the Red Bull vs Lotus case, but something like Red Bull vs Mercedes. :)

Another race, same problem. Made Pole and 2nd. And in the race i was 2s more slow.... When win the race start at last.....and make 2 pits (like me, if i don\'t make a mistake with fuel). Race ID

My cars is very inconstant some times a big time, similar the others, but the normal is 1 or 2 seconds more slow, and sometimes 3s more slow..... I make the lap record in race....

It\'s only a Pilot problem ????

Log from one pilot for example....

We should be able to get to the bottom of this in the next few days. As Andrew said he is developing a tool that will be able to determine exactly what is making each car fast or slow. Once we have that something will likely stand out as being given overly-inflated importance in the lap time calculations. It might be a mistake or a set of circumstances leading to it.

We\'re confident this will be fixed before launch anyway.
