Need help making money

I've been playing this game for a few days now and I have already lost 15,000,000, am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? and how can I make money again?

Well. You are buying new bits at the early stages of your management. It will slow down.. but here are some tips for you to start with.

1. EVERYONE in regards of sponcers / suppliers / drivers / staff are the best of the best.. Comment about them every 5 races...

2. When signing new contracts.. Try to have 3 or more in mind and test how many you can knock them down... At the start. I would knock them down at least 10 or more..

3. Look at the staff members you need to what facilities you have and get rid of the ones you don't need at the moment. (I've started a new team and didn't bother with the commerce at all. I am level 6 and have over 70 mill in the bank atm.)

They are just the quick ones.. There are others, for example. Do you need to replace all the parts of your car and so on..

Once you have your sponsors relationships at 10/10, they will sign for 1.5 milion each & you will have more money than you can spend

Why not bother with commerce? I earn 1 million per race from Merchandise sales..! In average I make 3.5 to 5 million per race depending on which parts I change and if I achieve the target place on the race. So it will pay off to experiment with commerce and also with the various contracts.

I don't bother as I would rather have designers and I want to replace every part, every race except the engins where I replace them every 2 races..

I have nearly 200 mill and that is after I've wasted money by messed around changing staff and so on... Commerce is not really needed tbh.. but that depends on your personal setup.. I know I am not the only one without commerce and I also know that you are not the only one to make over a mill each race... so it all depends on preference.. but I did aim that at new managers.. esp the ones who have not figured out that they are paying more for the commers staff member than they make... ooops. I've given something away there. ;)


Commerce is at level 5 and Conner is level 2.. So he doesn't need to have a staff member taking £1000 per race from him. ;)

As I keep stressing, in this game commerce is important if you are unable to always make your objectives and are not really very good.  If you are in a league with top class managers then you have no hope of ever breaking even - lol!

The one problem with this game (as in life) at the moment, is that once you have made buckets loads of money there is no stopping you as more money means more upgrades, staff etc etc.  It is also unfortunate that it is one aspect of the game that was not addressed (but is going to be).  In Beta I purposly tested the game this way and found it really difficult to improve once you are in debt so commerce was introduced - and if used correctly can be a benefit.  Many manager probably give up and leave once they cannot get out of debt (and we never hear of those - cause who wants to admit they cannot play the game right!!) and only the good players are left who then make loads of money and don't understand what the problem is.

I purposely play this game in a way that means I will never be a top manager so that I know what the guy at the bottom feels like, and if it wasn't that I too am committed to the game I would have left a long time ago, as constant debt is soul destroying.

You can still have enough designers and replace every part for every race and make almost a million in commerce... It just needs a lot of testing with your commerce to establish which prices and margins give the maximum amount of money. I took me a lot of testing but I give maximum priority to design and replacing parts every race as well and make a bunch of money from commerce. So I think it is worth it... In the end though you will end up with a bunch of money and no way to use them! :P
So if everething else is in place and there is some profit then yes commerce might not be needed in the long-run... I have 850 million and it doesn't help me be faster than if I had half of it.

I AM ANSWERING CONNORS MESSAGE FFS.. He was at level 2.. He is now level 3... You can't get commerce until level 5.

I am just stating a simple set up for the guy to help out... jezzzzz people.. A level 12 and 11 putting what THEY would do.. Not interested.. I am talking to Conner on HIS level.. It's not aimed for experienced managers.. He asked for money quickly ffs. O_O


I've just got to level 6 with my new account and if I don't hit objectives. I still make over 3 mill each race.. AT LEVEL 6.. I have 0 commerce with that team and already have 75 mill sat there waiting for the level 8 unlocks..

Jason Lee tests little aspects out in the game with other accounts and that is what I am doing.. I have found this way the easiest way to make money at the start of the game..

I personally don't bother with commerce because I don't need the money now.... but that is my own choice with my main account... It just so happens that it is also one of the most simple ways to get started.
