Hey. I got a couple of questions:

-At what condition do you change engines? What factors do you take into consideration to make this decision?

-Does using the same tyres in practice that you'll be using in the race have any benefit, or you just use the fastest you have for practice, no matter what setup you'll use for the race?

Cheers.

I don't do quick races but I will try to answer your questions.

I used to chage engine every othe races, but now I can afford changing them every races. It depends if you have enough coins.

For tyres, I do 1 practice with super soft tyres, to confirm the setup, then I use the tyres I intend to use during the race.
I can check tyre wear and fuel consumption with that compound.
I also try to do that at race temperature, but it's not always possible to do so.

Have fun racing

Sorry, with Q's I meant qualifying, but I guess the game don't have them or just calls them practice.

I was asking about the engines because of the tokens, if you need to change them in every race then you have to buy tokens no matter what.

I always use a sponsor that gives 3 tokens every race, always more than enough to have fresh engines every race.

You don't neel to change every race until there are fierce competitors with you, where every advantage count.

Richard, that's true when you reach level 16, before that you use quite a lot of tokens for staff and buildings to get up to speed with the others.

Also, with daily deals in the shop, there is discount on engines from time to time.

There is qualifications but they are done with the compound of your first stint, and only to determine your starting position.

Also from what I noticed, fuel does not effect qualifying.

First stint fuel load is not used.
The car is fueled for 3 laps, so fuel economy has a small effect for qualifications.

Is there a consensus about this? I always sign a 3 tokens per race sponsor too, but I made a quick math and didn't get the impression that would be enough to use so many engines.

So in any case, do you all agree that you DO need to change engine every race the moment you're playing a competitive league, but not before?

Quick answer: Yes.

I sometimes don’t change engine when I see that it almost did not change (I think it was Singapore last time), and it did not penalized me so far.
