Well Im getting closer to getting a podium finish....I think. Earlier today the league Im in raced at Turkey and my drivers qualified 1st and 2nd and my #2 driver was on the pole and lead the first 6 laps. After that it was all down hill from there, but at least I know Im putting fast setups. I think my race strategy is the thing killing me. For an example for driver #2 I figured 4 stints all on soft tires and I went with the following1. 50Liters soft2. 54 soft3. 52 soft4. 50 softAnd instead of going with a consistent pace, I tried the be aggressive and push hard strategy to see if it would get me above the 4th-6th finishes that I've been getting. I looked at the post race data for driver 2 and noticed that the starting fuel for him wasn't 50 litters its was 46.4 if I remembered right. Can someone explain this to me. I think if I figure out how to setup the race strategy correctly I might be a force to be reckoned with....I hope :-)
Thanks for any and all help in advance :-)

Your starting fuel was most likely 50L, that is the number in black. The 46.4 you are seeing is at the end of lap 1. You can't start with anything other than a whole number on the liters of fuel. Also, soft tires at Turkey is suicide unless it is the dead of winter there. Lastly, forcing your driver to push only slows you down as your tires get worse the hotter and more worn they are.

Simple tip for tires: blue is bad, red is worse.

There are situations that don't always follow that trend though Greg, so I guess it's not as clear cut as that but I do agree with the general principle Steve.

I used to fall the trap of 'Need to go faster'....'Push harder!' & it took me a fair few races to really understand the tyres

At this time of the year the only track that doesn't follow the trend is Monaco, really. Every other track you should be using 1/5 and 2/5 push for softs.

Just click on your driver Steve and watch the tyres. Try keep them grey. Red is bad unless it's your in lap.

Don't run that heavy on softs either, that's asking for trouble.
