After playing some older F1 manager games, I have an idea on things we could implement things from those games.
Mainly, an option to hold your position. This could be used in a strategic way to stay behind someone and plan a pass instead of passing a car before you want and giving up DRS, especially in the later laps of a race where you can use DRS to set up a pass to hold onto the lead for the win. This could also allow you to use a lapped car to gain DRS to gain an advantage instead of passing them and throwing that opportunity away. In my opinion, it adds another layer of strategy to the game. Do you pass now and bank on holding them off, or do you lay off and plan a late race move to get the win? Maybe, if there's a way, you can also save fuel using this method, which goes into the second thing I want to bring up.
You might say it's a cheese system, but it's not like teams wouldn't do something like this in real life, anything to gain an advantage.
I also don't know if it's possible, but maybe sliders for fuel use and tire use? Instead of one slider that (I assume) controls both. The fuel conservation is also something that can be linked to using DRS as well as telling the driver "Hold Your Position!"
