Can any of the developers or anyone familiar with the situation say whether the next update (whenever it comes) will include a new and improved points system ?

I agree... point system for managers is not fair at all... something should change...

In what way is it not fair?

I have taken a 1st place in pro and 11 car league and gave me 4 points, 2nd place  and gave me 0 points, a 3rd place and gave me -4(if i remember correctly) and last race a 4th place and gave me -5 just because i have the highest score... not fair at all... a podium is a podium and manager should take all the points he deserves... :(

I think you are talking about reputation points.. the thread is about race finish points.. I should have made it clearer

Yeah.. it has been brought up many many times... out oof 32 cars only 10 getting points is just not fair.. not much motivation to attend races

Point system is the same as used in F1 for the last few years.  And the last few years the driver's championship has come down to the last race of the season.  Seems like a pretty good system.

Not so good when you consider in F1 45% of drivers score points and in iGP 31% of drivers score points

Ignatius, How are generating the figure for iGP drivers?

For example, in BRL last season, across the 3 tiers, 66% of drivers scored points

Furthermore, this does not take into account drivers who did not complete the enitire season, which would make that number even higher.

Think he means 10 out of 22 (almost half the cars) cars score point in an F1 race, and in a packed iGP league race 10 out of 32 cars score points.

Ideally should be more like top 15 score points (almost half, like current f1) 15 out of 32 cars.

I think that the points need a change...if u have a team that don't setup or even race they still get points...we seen it in our league last season...after they started the season they were good the rest of the season which ain't right..but who am I....otherwise I think its ok as the amount of points and scoring positions are concerened

You are clearly in a poor league then if people can do no setup work and get points. If you have a full or close to full league with good managers, people will be nowhere near points.

This topic has been brought up before somewhere in the forums, and I agree to an extent about the points system needing somewhat of a change.

I don't like the current point system as it stands, because it's too inflated IMO. Maybe having a scaling system of points depending on how many people are in each tier of leagues would work...but extending it down to 15 drivers getting points sounds somewhat okay to me. One-third of a full grid getting points is still okay for now.

I'm not against balancing it out so that higher ranked players amongst "average" competitors don't gain any points when they get a 1-2 in races, but taking a hit to your Reputation for finishing 1-2 in an absolute pisstake.

Yeah I agree Chris.  Doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you end up losing reputation points for finishing 1-2.
