What did you try to do?
I started a wet race (3.3mm) on wets in 6th place in Malaysia. I went for a 2 stop as did most other people.

What happened instead?
By the end of lap 1 I was 19rd and proceeded to lose a few more positions (went down to 25th)on the next few laps. My first lap was 2.1 seconds slower than someone on inters and about 8 seconds off pace. This has happened about 5-6 times in the last month. A few seasons ago, in the first 2 laps of 3 consecutive races I lost a total of 27 positions. Surely this is not right as no other drivers in my league have experienced this.

Did the problem happen while using wi-fi, mobile data, or both?
Wi-fi

Did the bug happen in the app, on PC, or both?
App

What is the model of your device?
Honor 8X

What is the operating system?
Android

What is the version number of the operating system?
Emui 10

Can the bug be reproduced?
This has been happening quite a lot recently.

Additional comments:
This has been damaging to my results, especially this race since track position is vital for wet races. However, during the rest of the race I seemed to be on pace with the top drivers.

Malaysia wet race is the most bugged race in the whole game. Starting from qualifying results (also in dry race) which make no sense, randomly losing many positions at the start for no reason even being the ligher one and the W tyre overheats at min push level for no reason at all.
Never been fixed for years.
It's a completely unplayable race.

Well that explains Malaysia but the same has happened in the wet at Spain and the dry at Japan and Europe

Sorry, I wasn't trying to explain what happened during your race. Mine was just a comment about the "Malaysian wet race", which in my opinion is the most bugged race in the game so it doesn't surprise me that something like that happened to you in that race. Or to anyone in general. It only adds even more oddity to that specific race.

This game is full of bugs and some of them are really weird and unexplainable lately. Today someone has been relegated by the game from Elite to Rookie in the middle of the season for no reason. Support agent Bruno Brown fixed the problem manually. But we'll never know why on Earth it happened. And maybe it will happen again to someone else. Who knows.
They'll probably tell you it's due to random driver mistakes, cause it often happens to gain or lose several positions at the start of races for no apparent reason. But this won't explain why your first lap was 8 seconds slower than others and then you were back on pace again. So there's obviously a bug here. And I've read a few other similar reports in the past.
I hope they will eventually find out and fix the problem that may cause such a weird thing. I've lost count of the number of bugs currently in the game. And probably devs too. 🤷‍♀️

Just like China, I raced this season there in wet and now I’ve got PTSD, the pits bugged out completely and I lost my win that was guaranteed and got myself a 4th

Just looked and it’s your driver’s experience, it’s 5, I’ve found that experience matters a lot in the wet

This might be a factor but the first time this happened in Spain, I was using my old driver who had 20 experience.

Yesterday a whole lot of drivers in my league experienced that.

First corner was awful. Going up and down the grid in the same corner.

That's a different bug than what I experienced. A lot of people reported that yesterday after they fixed the pit stops.

Happened at China again today. Lost 12 positions on the first lap even though I had less or equal fuel to people behind. Throughout the race I had good pace and was easily catching people who had passed me on lap 1 and finished 1 position below quali. I could've got a good result if lap 1 wasn't so bad.
