This is a tangent, but I'd like to see Dennis Lind in an F1 car! He was competitive with Magnussen when they were starting out in Formula Ford (in lesser equipment, with a smaller team, as I understand it), and also went on to win the Formula Ford festival, but then his break didn't come. Dennis used to race for my simracing team, so I'm biased :D, but he really deserved a shot.

Connections and names will always make a smoother transition up the ladder. It was sad to see Dennis struggling to get a drive after winning the Formula Ford festival while Kevin went on to be signed by McLaren. Kevin definitely has what it takes, so I can only speak favourably of his talent, but I can't help but wonder 'what if' Dennis had the same opportunities...

Ultimately a pointless question/contribution, but any time I see Kevin in McLaren overalls it does make me wonder. Dennis probably too tall now anyway with the new regulations!

I'd choose Perez over Magnussen, as he'd offer security, both financially and performance-wise, but really, I'd Perez AND Magnussen. I'd drop Button.

I'm interested to see how Mclaren will perform next season,New regulations in 2014 so although they certainly didn't expect the car to be as bad as it was at the begining of the season I'm sure they are now fully focused on next season. I think Button has a few years left in him yet and I think Sergio has improved over the season. If the McLaren is a front runner next season then is Magnussen up to it? I think it is best to stick with Jenson and Sergio next season, Sergio's settled down now and I think he is prepared to have a shot in a much more competitive car next season.

What ever happens so many changes are happening for next season and it isn't clear where each team is going to be pace wise next season so I can't wait for Melbourne.

HULKENBERG TO LOTUS+ COMPETITIVE LOTUS 2014=  3RD FOR HULKENBERG IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (assuming red bull storm away again and that Riccardo puts in a half decent season)

Magnussen has champion potential whereas i feel Perez will merely be good which is still quite an achievement.

REALLY ??? Errr ok. Weird one but ok.

Button pitted for a new nose and put him over 35 seconds behind Perez and was also on a 1 stop that was slower by over 15 seconds and ended up only 7.5 seconds behind him in at the end... Button has also out quallied Perez more times this year.. Crazy statement to make tbh... Button also beat Hamilton 2 - 1 when they went head to head... Button is a better driver than most think tbh,

Realistically McLaren will look towards 2015 when the Honda comes. I expect next year will be a 'development' year towards that car. With that in mind they need experience through this phase. They HAVE to keep Button. Perez, although relatively new, brings more $ and more experience than Magnussen. Have a look at how Grosjean has come along with Lotus sticking with him through tough times. Perez could do the same and will have plenty of experience come 2015.

As for Hulkenberg I would love to see him in a decent car, but I worry if he went to Lotus it would be as bad of a move as going to Sauber was this year. Lotus has no money obviously, they are still awaiting their angel investor. Next years Lotus will be seriously under-developed.

Perhaps my fantasy moves would be Perez to Lotus so they get some sponsor money. Hulkenberg to McLaren with a view to a championship challenge in 2015, and Massa to Sauber.

I would love to see Button & The Hulk @ McLaren.

Button brings a lot to the table and with Jessica being the No 1 model in Japan. He gets a lot of money from that side of the pond. He is also Mr Charisma and does the social aspect very well... So tbh. McLaren needs Button more than you think..

Perez has been a little bit of a let down for a few reasons... but the main one for me is being in a big team to soon for someone like him, who also hit issues with this seasons car. I think he needed another 1 or 2 seasons in a lower team and be the No 1 driver for them first to build his character.. (Some drivers need that.)

Well I do accuse Formula 1 and its fans of knee-jerking all the time. Perez was an excellent driver last year, and that hasn't changed this year. It's much like Button's year at Benetton (2001), where everybody kneejerked into thinking he was a bad driver.

If you want to kneejerk though, please note that Perez scored more points over the last six races.

I would put Hulkenberg in the McLaren in an instant & Massa in at Williams.
