please hear me out.

There are requests for more setups options. I would like to suggest 5 areas for tweaking

Front aero
Rear aero
Front suspension stiffness
Rear suspension stiffness
Ride height.

Keep the adjusters from 1 to 50 but hang on, there is a catch.

The driver doesn't know what the "ideal" setup is. There could be a range around ideal for each stay that the driver says it feels good.

Example: front aero = 20. Driver says it needs to be increased. Manager changes it to 28. Driver says it is good. Ideal was 29, but anything between 27 and 31 driver would say ideal. Also, these true ideals should vary by track temp a bit too. Hot air is less dense so more aero is needed etc. Paying for the ideal setup could put you anywhere inside that range of driver's ideal range. It would be hard to get the setups immediately (given the variability of ideal stat and the range surrounding it) and would add a level of getting the car right for a track more than your opponent who is often running the same setup as you.

The extra setup options may be a good idea, especially when linked to a driver's attributes, particularly their experience level, especially giving different drivers different setups every season.

I completely disagree with getting rid if the ideal setup option, though.  As if my tweak of your idea is used, then, racing may be even more random, considering that different drivers will go for different setups depending on their overall development statusses.  Also this option gives raw rookie drivers an idea of how, in general, to set a car up.  Thus making the start of a managerial carreer a lot easier in my opinion.

The main reason I don't want ideal to be the true ideal is cause top level managers can afford to buy and buy ideals and level 18 and such have no chance to get up there. Thats all

I just keep a list of all the ideals.

I wanted random setups each season with no ideal setup buying. Don't think it was too popular of an Idea though, cant even find the forum anymore. LOL

Also:

Give us a choice of what to run in each stint: Qualifying Run 3 lap data, small feedback gains or Race Pace Run 5 lap data, high feedback gains.

Be nice if someone could jazz up Drivers Feedback a little.

@ Joshua, and that is exactly why I suggested this.  Next season, copy, paste, race.  Hope you qual well and stay in DRS.  maybe your upgrades were better this race.

Having a slightly changing setup allows managers who have that data to look at their historical data which says it's hot in germany, so I need a slightly different setup than last season when it was colder.  It would make setting up a car less of a formality and more a part of the race.

Allow me to re explain.

In my extention of the core idea there will actually be NO ideal setup unless a DRIVER is at level 20 for everything.  And that setup will depend onbthe driver physical attributes (height, weight etc) as well.
Set ups should depend more on a drivers attributes as well.  So there will be no two "ideal" setups the same.  Even season by season.  Until each driver has fully maxed out.

So we will no longer have an ideal setup option, but we will have a driver setup function.

This driver setup function will be free in rookie tiers, but cost 1 or 3 coins in Pro and Elite tiers, where the wealth is.  But, for a goid and fair race, it will be needed, if the extra setup functions come in...
