I used gold coins to pick up a TD from the Transfer list and the coins where deducted but did not get the TD.
What happened instead?
Looks like the TD went to another team but my credits were still deducted.

Did you bidded for him? If it was the case, then it's not a bug, but the game engine on action.
The "Bid" option does deduct the tokens from your account even if you lose the staff/driver in the market, but the "Buy now" option guarantees that you will have the staff at the moment you confirm it. You can risk losing it on a bidding war or be safe paying more tokens, that's up for you. And don't forget to shortlist the driver/staff so it can be found later on the server in case of a real bug.
