A stint is your current fuel and tyres. A new stint is started by a pitstop. 2 stints will mean 1 pitstop, 3 stints will require 2 pitstops and so on.

So its basically the time between the pit stops and the start, in a stint you have your fuel and tyres and at the end of a stint you get new ones when you pit. But as Lee said, 1 pitstop = 2 Stints, 2 = 3 Stints, 4 pits = 5 stints. If you do no pit stops however, you only do one stint (as long as you start the race).

Very clear explanation Charlie.  This is the type of info that could be in a FAQ's thread.

Or like we've all done pitstop - point where you run out of fuel XD

Speak for yourself. I have never run out of fuel on the last lap.

Well, only about 10 times.......

& I wasn't in the lead then.......

apart from the times when I was in the lead

Perhaps we should have the '1 meter club' for all of us who have run out of fuel on the final lap, just before the finish line. We should include those of you (I have never done this either), who run out of fuel in the pitlane, seemingly just before our pit stall.

*touch wood* I've never run out of fuel, but haven't done as much races as you guys. I'm a chicken though, and I always overfuel. I've won at least three races because of it though (lead driver ran out of fuel, or forced to make another pitstop).

I always overfuel a bit, too. I try to have 1 litre, plus or minus a half litre at the end of my stints. Running "bingo fuel" as I call it is a high-risk, low-reward strategy. I'm not of the opinion that one extra litre is really going to hurt performance, plus it gives you a bit of flexibility in case you need to push a little more than planned due to battling traffic.

I've miscalculated once or twice, ending up having to make a splash and dash, or finishing a race with two extra laps of fuel on board due to changing strategy mid-race, but that's it.
