Not sure if this just affects myself.
Why is the 2d viewer so jittery?

Rather than a smooth play of the race, it continuously jumps back every few seconds.
This makes watching the race a bit of a chore.
Don't remember it being this bad prior to Java update

Any thoughts, anyone?

You may be able to improve the lag you see by logging out of the race & waiting a short time before coming back in to it, 20 seconds maybe

This happens to me all the time!

Last race i was seeing drs deployed 2 corners before the activation and deactivate half way through the drs zone.

As well as continously jumping back to the same point 3/4 times all through the race

Tried logging out of race, however race is just as jittery as before.

Do the developers have any ideas?

Do you mean lag jitter or just jittery when you select high quality?

If you're talking about high quality, it's to do with your graphics card. For some reason some of them can't run HQ on full screen or it will stutter like crazy, you have to make the window smaller. I've had this problem for ages with my old Radeon 5870 1gb.

Thanks for the info Eton, but no, not using the high quality.

Lag jitter I suppose, but it always used to be nice and smooth, since Java update cars now stutter round the screen.

KERS operation lags when selected, also DRS appears to operate late.

Not sure if these are all related or indicative of other bugs already known about.

imagine a point in the lap, the race goes for 5-10seconds then rewinds back to that point and play again then rewind again then play again etc

The description given by Ignatius Corleone in the previous comment is a fair description of the problem

However Monday nights race appeared to be much smoother, not sure what has caused the change.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If it lags too much, just go on the timing and race control or whatever its called, its not as good but atleast your still competetive.

Tonights race was absolutely terrible cars jumping forwrads and backwards.
DRS zones not operating within the correct zones
KERS not operating when button presed.

I tried reloading race 4 or 5 times but no difference

It was almost unplayable

How long did you wait after logging out from the race?

In my experience, waiting 20 seconds or so has improved the situation

Thanks for your reply Andrew.

Had similar problems last night so followed your advice and admit it made a big difference.

However after about 10mins things started to return to their jittery form.

Its really annoying when your KERS doesn''t operate when pressed.

Another Manager in my League (British Racing League, which rocks BTW!), had me change my 2D to just display the car numbers, not the car numbers, and car images.  This made a HUGE different for me, especially once the field spread outs.  Not only did it appear to reduce my jitter issues, it also resolved the issue where the other applications I run are not lagged out.  This is important for me, as I work while I race... Or is that race while I work? :)

Speaking of the BRL, we're on the final leg, with the season ending 26 Feb 2014. Two places in Rookie, and we have a BLAST!
