I was wondering how you guys would recommend allocating support staff? I always used to have 10/11 people per part of my design team, but i've seen some people mention the use up to 50 people per part or something like that?

You can only produce a new parts every 48 hours so however many that requires is the amount you need. Adding more designers onto the same part won't make any difference. If the part is not ready in 48 hours then you could add more designers to reduce the time taken to make the new part
