Hi, can somebody from igp tell me if boost is more powerful as you level up (as in giving the player more acceleration/speed), or is it just a matter of capacity and the amount of boost given upon each level up. I have asked this question before but I never really got a definitive answer. The reason I ask is because I had a race earlier tonight and I'm level 17 with this account. I was racing 2 level 20 players with the 3 of us all leading the race. Then on last lap where each of us boosted at the same time, my boost was considerably less effective even though I had a little more left than guy in front and the same amount as guy behind me. My boost really let me down and I ended up behind both players. So I would really love to just get some confirmation as to boost and it's upgraded effects, if it is more powerful or simply more capacity for the player. Thanks!

I don't have any data but i have the same feeling.  I've lost DRS several times because of that.

A lvl 20 is more powerful than a lvl 17.

From my experience i think the difference between level 17 or 18 and level 20 tech is in the initial part. The overall power is pretty much the same, but a level 20 car seems to jump ahead slightly before levelling out. So, if 2 cars were next to each other into a DRS zone, the level 20 would pull ahead before reaching the same speed. I believe the same to be true with boost

I think this feeling of losing DRS required gap in a KERS fight is caused mainly due to dirty air. And then we also have the inherent lag between us and our opponents, that is applied during those events:
opponents pressing to boost -> communication to server -> KERS icon showing to us -> we reacting to avoid losing DRS -> communication to server -> our KERS icon showing.
Now multiply this by a factor of 2.0x speed races and you have a quite dramatic scenario.

The boost level only increase time you have it available.

In my opinion, not only would have lvl 17 boost mean you actually didn't have more than them (due to smaller overall capacity) but when boosting it is not as if all cars become the same, dirty air and overall car performance will still have an effect.
Also, I don't know if you were all holding down boost, but if not another factor would be where you were boosting, as it is much more effective when applied at certain parts of the lap.

This is very true. There are key points of certain circuits that have a far greater effect than normal. One that springs to mind is the exit of the hairpin at Abu Dhabi. The general difference in boost and drs from level 17-20 is extremely small

I agree with you mainly, but I don't think the difference is small. I'm in a very competitive league and have definitely felt the difference going up each level, before I would struggle to stay ahead at the end of drs zones and get beaten in boost offs but now it is a lot easier to keep pace.

But in terms of boosting, the place that springs to mind for me is Monaco. Some corners you can use 5-10% boost and gain virtually nothing, whereas others you can use 2-3% and gain a lot more

When I first started in elite i was level 9 tech and the difference to the top guys was hilarious. I'd frequently lose 5 or 6 positions in a drs zone, with drs 😂😂
Now I'm at level 18, and I'm winning championships, so the difference right up there isn't as big. Each level gives you less extra than the previous one. For instance, the difference between 13 and 14 is a fair bit bigger than 17-18

Tyre temps, wear and push level seems to help slightly with how effective KERS is. I have noticed when head-to-head with other level 20 managers with a last lap KERS Party, there can be a tiny difference between the 2 cars

There is definitely a difference, but like you say it's very small. Much smaller than the difference between level 12 and 13, for instance. From level 17 onwards you can definitely win races and championships against level 20 managers
