How about chassis upgrades? These would be things such drag and weight reduction, weight distribution, front and rear specific downforce, floor upgrades etc. This would make the design battle more exciting. And how about choosing aero concepts (high/low rake, nose cone style etc.). Also if you had regulation changes that the hosts mandate, that would be cool

seems quite a good idea to upgrade aero with dp but with the aero concepts people who dont know about racing tech and that stuff could not like it

There should he some base stats such as downforce ( front and rear), drag reduction, stability etc

yeah for then i could have a chance at monaco with aero upgrades

Any other thoughts from anyone?

maybe a staff member that is head of aero

I like that and chassis as well. This would help pinpoint development and help build the best car
The issue is that the cost would be more so that may need tweaking

yes like maybe given what the 15 token investment is for your level

And you could have a R&D tree like on f1 2020 where you have specific upgrades, perhaps with a different currency

yeah i think some might find it sophisticated and on the game it costs allot

No, but kind of yes. ;-) All those things are the tweaks that are simplified into the car stats we put our DPs in. So adding those things on top wouldn't make that much sense. But adding a more hardcore mode replacing the whole design and setup with a much more detailed one, oh yes, I'd like that.
But for a (deceivingly) simple, mobile friendly, easy to grasp the basics system the current design does a great job and should remain for all those preferring a game that's not looking like requiring a background in race car engineering to figure out heads and tails.

Yea fair but there are no chassis upgrades. The only thing you can change is the livery
