Not very fun having only a few suppliers, you should have more variety of fuel, engines, tyres etc.

In what way would this improve the game?

It would improve the game massively! Most of the suppliers on this game are shit anyways...having a better or more variety would be much better for race excitement

In what way? If there's one clearly dominant supplier, then everyone is even as everyone has that part, and if they're all more equal, it makes everyone even again, so for me, the only way suppliers should be changed would be by being able to make your own and have variety that way.

Or, have to evenly good suppliers but have 1 excel in performance and the other in efficiency.

Better combinations are needed, today one its the best, and the others.... basically nothing. So, it would be awesome to make it work for different strategies...

I don't know if this has been brought before. Sorry if it has been.

How about some new suppliers Brakes & Electronics added to the game?
They don't really need to do anything to the performance of the cars just something to spend all this easy made money on. But if you did make them do something it could be a way to add more car failures & crashes to the game.
Image below is just to spark some ideas in Jack's mind :D

Let's not forget Loco Industries, the knock off version of Lucas Industries. My laptop is malfunctioning just from typing that.

:D Blunion I only listed the Brakes & Electronic suppliers that ea sports had in their f1 manager game, there are lots more knocking about :)

I like the idea of creating your own engine, you could even give the choice to build a smaller turbo charged engine that uses less fuel, or opt to build a massive V8 engine that uses more fuel but gives a bit more power. Could even sell the engines onto other teams for a premium price, so that if you don't want to wait around to develop a good engine, you have to pay for it, which in turn should make them have to give something else up.
And having James' idea of having different brake manufacturers could make it more interesting, we just need something to spend all that hard earned cash on

Few more engines added would be nice :)

Porsche could be bootlegged to Porscha and Lamborghini to Lambrogina.

I know you are updating Engines already so maybe this pointless but is there any way of adding engine spec updates through the course of the season?

Start season with standard engine after 3 or 4 races the supplier produces revised engine at an extra cost 50,000 per update on top of what you are already paying per engine.

Wonder - 1st update +2 Power, 2nd update +1 Power & +1 Response, 3rd final update +1 Power & -1 Weight
Rednote - 1st update +2 Response, 2nd update +1 Response & +1 Power, 3rd final update +1 response & -1 Weight
Toy motor - 1st update +2 Economy, 2nd update +1 Power & +1 Rigidity, 3rd & final update +1 Power & -1 Weight
Murk - 1st update +2 Economy, 2nd update +1 Rigidity & +1 Economy, 3rd final update +1 Response & -1 Weight
Tifosi - 1st update +1 Response, 2nd update +1 Response & +1 Economy, 3rd final update +1 Response & +1 Rigidity
Cosurworthit - 1st update +1 Power, 2nd update +1 Power & +1 weight, 3rd final update 1+ Power, 1+ Rigidity & +2 Weight

Basically last few races or from the middle of the season onwards everyone has a similar engine spec no matter what supplier they pick :D

will be very interesting a 3 month (or other duration) variables change... like real F1... not always motors are confident.... there are other choices, even price.

There are other choices but Power, Response, Economy, Rigidity & Weight are the main ones..
Cooling & Reliability don't seem to be in use at the moment, maybe they will be in play in later updates or I might not just be seeing them in action they maybe are doing something in the background.

Visual engine temperatures should be added to the car graphic in live race, So we can see the impact of weather temp & pushing to hard.
Could be similar to the tyres blue, grey & red.
Blue - under performing, lose of performance
Grey - optimise temp best performance
Red - over performing, lose of performance and may cause engine failure

I'm back & I not giving up on engine updates just yet :D
Jack and the lads would have it much prettier looking & have their own information & setting changes than what I have.
As not everyone signs contracts at same time & updates reset after 17races it still makes races interesting even if the 3rd upgrade makes all suppliers the same specs for last 8races of the contract

Possible E-mail from Supplier.

Big empty space on the supplier pages needs filled up with something.
Possible to have Updates on Suppliers page.

Interesting. Each build that unlocks after a certain number of races should carry a high cost, such as Rednote, in this instance, is trying to recoup the costs of improving the engine for the season. The engines get extremely cheap as you become more loyal to the engine supplier, so this would help serve as an incentive for them to make some extra money.

Maybe for all the suppliers, instead of certain stats improving with each build, some improve and one or two other stats go down. So, for example, if you have Tifosi as your engine supplier (calling on Ferrari's engines randomly bursting into flames heritage here) and you unlock the build that comes at Race 9 in your example, the reliability may have improved in previous builds, but for this build it has decreased, and so has cooling and fuel economy, but other stats have improved, such as power, rigidity, and response.

Thoughts?

A degrading stat may put people off if you need to pay too much, would you pay $50,000 extra for an engine that has more performance but less reliability?
I guess so because most people pay $60,000 more to use Tifosi over Rednote. I didn't think that through :D

Tifosi - Better cooling, More power & Lighter engine
Rednote - More reliable, More responsive, Higher power settings & Less fuel
