Hi, I would like to know if fuel consumption will be corrected because on some tracks it is far lower than what it used to be making fuel economy less impactful. I think having only 4 primary attrubutes and two secondary (fuel and tyres) it's important that the game keeps a degree of importance on both the secondary. With 8 total attributes and 2 completely untouched I think the game would lose it's diversity and become too predictable if fuel economy also loses its importance. Maybe they plan to readjust the consumption levels back to where they used to be on the tracks where there's big changes since the update. Would like to hear from anyone who has more information on this, tnx.

Hi Paulo.

From the small number of tests that I've carried out since the update I don't think the relationship between the FE attribute and MPG (or litres/km) has changed.

It is the fact that many of the the circuits are now shorter which results in less fuel being required to to complete one lap.

If the number of laps for the race is adjusted to make the full race distance the same as before the update the amount of fuel you require for the entire race will be the same.

This is the same for tyre wear, because the tracks are shorter the tyre wear percentage is also lower.

As you can see from the table below, of the 24 circuits (GB09 no longer exists) 18 are now shorter. Two are significantly longer, Monaco and Mexico and for these you should find that they now need more litres per lap than they did pre-update.

I would like to think the fuel and tyre wear will fixed at some point, but we need all 8 design options equally important as each other, so that there is no right or wrong way to build a car. I think it's important, no matter what way it's built the car is going to have it's strengths and weakness at different points. Either in all the races or different races throughout the calendar.

I know Jack really wants 2 front runners 2 midfielders and 2 bringing up the rear in terms of engines. And I guess he could still have that if he was to bring back top speeds and weights of engines. Without making some design areas more important than others.

Tnx for the info Kev. I am surprised at just how much shorter some tracks are. I do hope though that fuel economy retains it's significance albeit a minor one when compared to the top 4 but still necessary as it used to be. I have a feeling that although lap counts have increased to equal old distances that fuel economy may not be as advantageous because stints will generally have less fuel loads, but that's just going on what I have experienced so far since the update. I just prefer the spread when it comes to research. I think it gives us more to consider when playing the game which is always a good thing.
