I'm a noob, so someone else may have more accurate information.

[*]Prize money is awarded after each race, based upon the goals for each race.
[*]The prize amount changes based on the number of other teams currently racing in your league. I think it is $100,000 per opposing team (I'm in a 2-car league, so it might be half of that in a 1-car league).
[*]The goals change based upon your driver contract status (Driver 1, 2 or equal) and perhaps the quality of your car. Whe I started racing my goals were to simply complete the race intact, but now my goals are to win the race or finish better than certain opponents.
[*]The current goals are viewable only during a race (as far as I can tell), from the screen that shows the starting grid.
[*]You can look at the finances page to see how much prize money you have been earning. There is a line item for it.
