Would it not be classed as strategy and skill to make sure you don't have a blow out or off track during high push? Or bad tyres? Its not luck its a risk factor of you want to push to the limits take a chance, of play it safe its all managed by skill and strategy. No luck involved whatsoever
In the statistical long run maybe, but when loosing a race because the competitor running higher push getting no error while the own, despite more careful PL, does, the competitor wins the championship because his statistical 3 errors happened to happen in races were it didn't matter or in a single race while the own 2 just when you were leading by a small margin and/or the competitors mistake happened early in the race easily recovered and the own one in the crucial last stint then the statistical long run is of no solace whatsoever.
Also all races that are (possibly) decided by uneven distribution of errors are always lost races as well as championships, even if it equals out over time, because the ones I loose would be a nuisance and the ones I win hollow and worthless and thus altogether wasted time.
Totally agree with Frank, also, the game would lose a lot of managers over such lost championships, let me explain why:
You talk about football manager games where players get randomly injured. I was heavily into football manager in the past (I mean I won back to back champions league titles with West Brom in FM16) and I can tell you, even when the odds are slightly in your advantage, you will feel as if you’re at a disadvantage as soon as you hit bad luck more then once.
This is why I only play save-able football manager games because you’ll see, it doesn’t seem random when your buy of the season gets injured for 8 weeks in the first or second match of the season. You’ll think it’s scripted even when it’s not.
What i mean is, the sensation of losing because of bad luck is way stronger then the sensation of winning because of someone else’s bad luck. And that’s gonna be a reason to quit for those with bad luck
Less players in the game means less money coming in means less devs means poorer game
A bit of realism is good but this is still a game, if you want to realistically build a racing team up, you can do it in real life but you’ll need more money and time
