Design point wasn't added

I've finished my very first race. I added the earned design point on Acceleration expecting it to increase from 18 to 19.

Acceleration remained 18

thanks for your answer but I think there is a misunderstanding.

The issue is that I have already assigned the single point that was generated by my Design HQ. I assigned it to Acceleration. But after adding it, Acceleration is still on 18 as before the race. I understand it should be 19 now.

I had already read the first thread you shared and a few more in a similar vein (guides, tips). The Rules & Regulations I have read now. Unfortunately I find there no explanation for what I described. Hope you or another member can help.

PS: thanks also for closing the other post. I thought the topic fitted better here but I couldn't delete the other one. Guess it's not possible

Also thought about it but it is not the case. I agree with you that it can be confusing, specially in those fields where you have a negative bonus from your suppliers. I understand adding points on those will make no change until the total sum goes above 1.


I have not changed suppliers. Also all the suppliers I have add a positive number to Acceleration, so this doesn't seem to be the issue.

Take a look at Acceleration:

• Where is the green arrow?


• Where is the red arrow?


• Where is the bar?

A screenshot might be helpful. Or, if you use a browser, try browser context menu -> "Inspect" on the bar post the percentage numbers of arrow und bar.

At Acceleration I only see the red arrow, so I understand the green one is exactly at the same point and they overlap. The bar seems to end right under the arrow.

Checking under Inspect, both bar and arrow are at 2%.

So, what does this mean? :)

Ps: great sidenote

Since you are in Rookie tier, 2% means, your design at ACC is 1.
With Murk (+10), Elves (+4) and Michigan (+3) as your suppliers, that sums up tp 18.

It seems like you didn't distribute design points to ACC or they never got there.

Please check Review(research) again. What did u research last race? Is the green bar for at any Area beyond the red triangle?
That would indicate you improved in this area by research or design point distribution.

There are other reports of people not being able to research Acceleration. The green tick in research doesn't stay on when clicked and saved, this might be related to their problem. 

@Cole: I'd swear I put it there but there is always a chance that I misclicked or something, so after my next league race tomorrow, I'll record it on video when I assign the point(s)

I didn't think the issue could be specifically related to Acceleration (I've run only once, so I only assigned one point), so I didn't looked after that term.

Am I getting this right?: you gain design points after every league race. You assign it where you want. You get extra points through Research by "spying" teams on your league that are currently better than you on that area.

In my case, the point I don't find is the one I earned and assigned after a race (my first race), not gained through Research.

Might be the same issue. Person in my league has a team in another league and told me nobody in their other league can tick Acceleration 
A few years ago this same thing happened and it turned out to be a broken hard drive on one of the servers

that could explain it. I mean, it would be weird if the system is so (why not show 0 from the beginning?) but at least it would explain it.

I'm taking a look at the other stats. After my first race, they are all at 1 but two of them: acceleration (see above) and handling. Handling is at 2 but the message from my technical director says I've gained 2 points. If they all start at 1, then I should have 3 already! Again, that would match your experience but the system wouldn't make sense to me (or it might be a bug).
None of my suppliers has an influence on Handling, so that cannot explain it.

I guess we'll get an answer during the week. It also affects everyone in my league, so I can live with it :)

Ah, yes Frank! Had this with my junior team at fuel eff. (weakness of CD): FE has been 0, but showed up as 1. So, the first point distributed to FE changed nothing.

Just had my second race and again, I'm told I got +1 at Downforce through Research but it it still shows 1 point like before.

Now I have realized: the points you see in "Overview" don't match those on "Upgrade>Car design"! In Overview it says I have 1 point, then in Car Design it says its zero.

Let me know if I'm missing something. If not, I hope this gets solved. The learning curve is already steep enough! :D
