i just did a race at sepang in the dry, the harder tyre seemed to be alot quicker than all the other tyres including the soft?

i started in first and 2nd so my objective was podium and 2nd or better, but the other guy in a team i race with up the front his cars have kers.

i spyed on his tech and his desgn parts were at 7% while mine were at 45%.

but his deginers are higher level.

What exactly are you asking?

If a guys car performance is 6% and mine is 40%, and his designers are level8 and mine are 6. Who has the fastest overall car.

depends on the drivers talent, health, if parts are new or used, etc.  Car development is only part of the equation.

Russell, as I write this, you are lvl 5 with 17 races under your belt. I am guessing at the guy you are talking about but he is lvl 7 (56 races) and his drivers are lvl 9 (via lengthy stint with him and training). As you stated he also has KERS. You are going to be figting a very difficult battle

And of course add in what Bill said

To be fair, sometimes the race objectives are completely unrealistic.

One thing I remember that helped me make my objectives was to sacrifice qualifying position for race position. There was a period of time when I was in Pro tier that if I qualified on the Hard tires while most everyone else started on Softs, I could make up positions via race strategy. I might start around 18th or 20th but I'd climb up to the lower points by the end (say, 7th to 10th).

Depending on your races (distance, track, weather), you might be able to start on the Mediums and make up some places via being able to push harder on the tires.
