Apparently..

"The 2021 British Grand Prix will witness a unique moment in Formula 1 history, with the debut on Saturday of F1 Sprint, a pit stop-less 100km romp around the iconic Silverstone circuit, with the drivers’ finishing positions dictating the grid for Sunday’s British Grand Prix"

All in favour say "Aye", all against say "wtf is this?"

It is a 'try it and see if it works' for me 😄

No doubt will be interesting on many levels, and potentially a whole new audience to gain. If it goes wrong, they can always revert back to the shootout method, but at least then, they would have tried.

An iGP Manager thread titled, "Silverstone 2021" (at time of writing). 😉

As for F1's sprint race proposal, it's an idea aimed at making F1 more interesting - but surely it'll just be the same 4-5 drivers scoring the 1,2,3 points respectivelly in each race, unless there's an incident with one of the front runners?

It will be a bit more interesting than normal qualifying, but results will be the same and since you now have to qualify for the sprint race its a little pointless.  Sprint race starting with reverse grid from last race would be much more interesting

We'll have to see how interesting it turns out to be. For entertainment purposes the reverse grid would make sense, the top cars trying to plough through the field in order to secure a good starting position for the main race would spice things up considerably. Now there's the argument where in that is the sports, but that one was left wide behind with the current elimination style already, tailored for pure viewing thrill (except, for the promoters taste the teams could put in more effort to be closer in pace, I suppose).

Yea i didn't think they would qualy for the Sprint, maybe just do a random draw. I did think they might do the Sprint and take the Race order from the fastest lap of each driver set in the Sprint. It is what is it is, it was alright. Lewis seems to like it. Max seemed to really like it lol
