What did you try to do?
I realized that I had double stacked my cars. I attempted to boost with one of them to open up as much of a gap as I could.
What happened instead?
When the car got to the pit entrance, it skipped pitting. The car subsequently ran out of fuel and retired.

I believe that I may have had this happen before. I recently retired from another race on June 15th (my first ever in 9 years--today is my second), and I believe that I may have boosted past the pit entrance there as well.
