Hi guys!

I know this subject has been mentioned multiple times, but i thought i give it another try, maybe developers will do something about it this time.

So the idea is: apply blue flag for back markers and dont give drs when overtake them. By this, back markers cant hold up other drivers, but no one could gain lap times when overtake them.

Its quiet annoying when you are chasing down one of your rival, you are working hard to find them extra tenths / hundredths and then, your rival gains an extra 0.5 sec because of a back marker ( meanwhile it might not working out for you on the same way ).

So many times i couldnt gain position ( ergo points ) because the driver front of me kept getting DRS of back markers, meanwhile i have stucked behind them and lost time. Im sure it is not a big thing to ask for, im sure most of us would be happy with this upgrade. Nothing worse than loosing points because of this. And if i wanna be honest, most of the times back markers are offline managers: they might log in to the game, but they are not bother to be online during the race.

I hope we can make it happen.

Cheers!

Right, so I'm guessing you want every race to be as boring as a wet race? Imo the backmarkers add strategy, otherwise it would just be down to who has DRS on the final lap.

Thats the nature of racing i must say..

And given the cars go through each other what point would a blue flag make? The cars can't change route. They stuck like trains to one line around the track. Hence no overtaking either..

Sorry dude you just out of luck there..

I do wish you all would turn down the defensive levels a touch.

Being polite is always nice.

Back-markers add a bit of randomness to an otherwise straightforward game (for the most part). Without this randomness, you’d get bored pretty quickly.

I am totally agree that backmarkers should not receive DRS.
This is the only modification necessary

Back markers create DRS opportunities for leaders in real life so my opinion is it belongs in the game and adds an extra strategy aspect.

I think that blue flag mechanic already exists, because I noticed that backmarkers are moving out of a way of drivers lap(s) ahead, it just isn't shown with blue flags. Also, getting DRS from backmarkers is probably best way defending driver can defend from attacking driver, making battles more exiting.

While I agree to a certain extent, I think they need an overhaul in rainy races. The dirty air effect seems to apply equally for backmarkers as well as direct competitors which can have a serious impact in rainy conditions. Being stuck behind a backmarker at the wrong position of the track can cause you to win or lose a race due to pure randomness, since in order to pass at an infavourable turn one would have to use more boost than the direct competitors, thereby yielding them an advantage.

Of course I see the argument that this is "racing" and some randomness always applies, but from my very personal point of view I am no huge fan of it.

This has been said time and time again and hasn't happened, yet. Also, this is the idea part of the forum, it does not necessarily have to be implemented.
