Into my second full season in a league and had my design focus all to next year. However, i'm finding the timelines for design pieces a bit longer this time round. So just wanted to ask thoughts of people. Is it better to leave a consisten number of designers on parts throughout the season, or is it better to throw a load of designers onto one part and get it done at the soonest possible time and then go to the next peice until you start again with the process?

It would be better to throw a load of designers on one as you could get 2-3 parts updated every day.

Yep, that is what I do.  I also work on the next season's parts 1st until I get them to 50% and then I work on the current season.  That way I don't struggle to get the following season performance up near the end or have drastic unbalance from one season to the next..

does it effect where you finish in your current season (as far as placing in the standings) on next seasons development at all?

Pat,

Next years car Dev allows you to start the season with some form of chance of being competitive from the start.  If it's too high then work on the following season after that is too slow.  I aim to be at about 50-60% design at the start of each season.  No, it does not help you with this season but then you'll not have a rollercoaster ride of good and bad seasons in a cycle.

Once I've done the next season I put all work on to this.  You still end up adding 1% to each part for next season anyway, that is why I stop at 50% because it keeps raising each time a Dev cycle is complete (which should be every day or so if you put enough designers on them).  it's better to work on 3 parts per day and then 3 the next than spread all desingers over all parts.
