Hey I am disgusted the coonection problems ruined my race I was doing ok in the first one and then it cam back an hour later when I noticed the race was nearly 20 laps gone I hadnt had the chance to change strategy like the first run and ended up with both cars running iut of fuel
The downtime was more like 20 mins or so, not an hour, everyone reconnected xcept you. Soooo no i don't think we want it to run again :) (Besides you weren't in the points before or after the race restart, so at least its not that bad).
Although i am wondering about one thing though, should a drop in connection result in a race resume instead of a race restart since the last patch?
I had a chance to get in the points and anyway who are you to comment - your happy so you dont care - thats no attitude , Games are suposed to be fair ad fun

If the league host (Greg Denton) wants the race to be rerun, we can re-run it for you. All we need is a request from him.

Actually, that component is not live yet. It was supposed to be live by now but there have been some problems deploying it.
However, the fact that this is the first time it has come up since the update shows how well it is performing. We haven't had a single service or race restart in roughly two weeks. That's thousands upon thousands of races running without fault.
I'm hoping the resume code will be put live within a matter of days, which will prevent races from ever restarting. I know that Chris is working as hard as he can to get it finished and working as intended. Then we can avoid these situations entirely.
Ok but that doesnt change the fact you could have sent messages about a postponed race and restart time
I am not happy with the race startd ok then I didnt see the restart ad it spoilt myrace completely

I understand Pete, and I think this is quite a good example of what I meant in a previous thread when I said people invest so much time and energy in to the "one race" in iGP that it becomes a massive deal when even the slightest service fault shows up.
These kind of problems, and much worse, happen in other games literally all the time. I used to play a bit of League of Legends, and the whole of Western Europe (millions of players) would be offline for virtually days on end sometimes.
In iGP, we have weeks of faultless service, 99.9% of races running without issue, then 3 or 4 have a hiccup and people are absolutely furious. Because for the people in those races, that is their entire service encapsulated in that one race. It's understandable, it really is. And it's a very different experience and level of expectation to most games. But in terms of the service we're actually providing, it's very high quality since the update.
It's totally understandable to not be happy, and I'm not happy that we've not delivered what you expect tonight, but in the bigger picture I'm not concerned that this is a sign of anything to worry about. We're pretty much on top of this now, and once the races resume instead of restart the last remnants of these kind of things will be gone for good.
Ok I understand but still feel some compensation is due however may I suggest you set up a system to message us to tell us to hold on your fixing it as I and I expect others cant keep looking at the screen refreshing waitng for a race resumption

We do have a system in place for that with race postponements, but not race restarts. I will put that on the agenda. Thanks for the feedback.

I agree, but games have to be fair and fun for everyone. A race restart is never fun, because someone will always do a bit better or worse then before the restart. But we had 6 out of 7 managers reconnect almost instantly when it went up again and it would not be fair to them (me included) to restart it.
Also like Jack said, if there would be a restart it would go via the League Host, G. Denton.
I can only offer some small advice, in the months i have been playing, resuming connection has never taken that much time. Usually only a few mins to 25 or so.
