I am relatively new to the game and wonder if there are any safety car mechanics or even red flags. If yes, I would like to see further improvements.

The game has had yellow flags and safety cars before.  This has not worked, as it just noused up the actual racing.  Especially at the front in Elite tiers.  I personally, would not want this to come back...

That's interesting actually. I really didn't think it would have such bad consequences. Could there be a way to reintroduce them without messing up the racing?
Thanks for replying.

Based on when it was introduced there isn’t and it was probably the most unpopular innovation ever introduced into the game.

There are also plenty of historic threads in forum explaining why.

Would be awesome to see crashes when pushing hard

It would be cool to see a rework of the previous system then. Safety cars and crashes are a key part of the sport, maybe have them be due to some stats (experience on drivers, reliability in the cars) or just pure randomness. Either way, i feel it could be added as a feature that ends up decided if it´s on or off by the league mod.

How exactly could you rework this and not end end up with the same result as last time?

Crashes have the same if not worse impact than mechanical failures which ruined the game we they were introduced.

This is a strategy/management game, not an F1 simulation so randomness detracts from, rather than, adds to this game.  If you want crashes there are plenty of race simulation games.

For me personally it is also a simulation, so why not implement crashes or broken cars?

It could depend on your push level or on the reliability value of your car (actual this category is completely senseless).

The more you push or the lower your reliablity level is, the more likely is a crash or a defect.

This would really add an awesome feature to the game...

At the top level it changes from a simulation to a completetive management game. To get an idea of how top players and even those midfield in elite might react, how would you feel if F1 eSports had random failures turned on and it decided the Championship? If it were action based (push too hard etc) it would further limit strategy options and if reliability became useful it would be a horrible get lucky tradeoff between speed and DNF chance.

It would be turned off by 95% of hosts, making it from a business point of view, a very expensive gadget

The only reason it did not work because the game has zero random events otherwise the safety and yellow was a brilliant addition.

Look at real f1 which this game is based on safety car comes out more than 70% in a single season so it is a massive part of racing. Same for accidents, drivers push especially Lewis this year and they push themselves into mistakes. This is exactly what this game is missing.

Is based on formula racing, not f1

The most frequently cases to caused SC by an inactive manager’s shitty car get completely damaged on the track. It’s ruining the active manager’s race.

You have just given the reason, why, this sort of stuff will not work here.  The amount of and complexity of putting random number (read as event) generators into the race feed may very well be prohibitive in terms of cost and manpower.  If you want this to remain a predominantly free game, you may wish to reconsider your viewpoint on this matter.

I have said before, that these sort of things have been tried and failed in alpha testing due to the amount of complaints about cars being done over due to SC or VSC conditions at times when things mattered.

I disagree my friend, it gets stale and boring very fast, there's no excitement in playing any more. I made the perfect suggestion a while ago but as always this community shot me down because they hate change. Something has to give in order to progress. And incidents are the best way.

What I suggested was push level adding 5% chance to make a mistake, or something along these lines
So being in max push you have a 5% chance to miss the corner or whatever you loose a second in time so it's very minimal, pops up on screen like pitting. but adds that element that something that it's missing.
Basically just like tyre temp you have to control it to get that perfect lap.
It's  Easy to implement as there is no visual crash. I am able to code this myself so a team shouldn't have a problem.

Now if I'm fighting for the lead I have now an extra strategy option! Push or defend and decide when to attack, seeing someone go wide on turn 2. Fills me with excitement as I know they are pushing  thus creating an exciting race!

If you are bored of the game you are either

A) Not playing it right
or
B) In the wrong league
Oh, And we don't hate change (usually)- we just like change that goes forward rather than back :)

This is a management game in essence, its main focus lies on building a team and managing live races. It means a manager should go to great lengths to get the competitive edge. It means reward on the long term.

If you introduce risk on a short term basis, this short time luck or unluck will undermine the long term reward, in some cases overturning a long time prepared victory into a loss. Such a loss will alienate managers who are in it for the long term, causing them to leave.

This is why, imho, crashes based on luck have no place in this game. I’m not saying in any game, not in a management game. If you like crashes, take a look at racing games, there are plenty, don’t pick a management game cause these would be boring for you, all due respect.

So I would go one step further then Rhys and say you might be in the wrong game. Once again, all due respect, I know I love management games, this is the game for me but I can totally see it’s not everyone’s cup of tea

I've been playing this game since 2014
Let's be honest we can only control temps and push level, if that's your idea of in depth strategy and fun then I kinda feel bad for you. Setup is easy so everyone has the exact same setup, strategy is the same 90% of the time. So it comes down to tyres and push level that is basically all we do and you class that as management? I'm not here to argue or get abusive, but I really don't understand why you are against it. once tyre balancing is implemented so we can use all tyres and a variety of competitive strategies that will add an extra which I am looking forward too. It just annoys me slightly how you have completely dismissed the idea I just can't see the reason to hate it. Yo beu say it will push players away.. thats totally wrong you control how hard you push you know the risks that's part of racing! And management.

Take a look at football manager Sims players get injured the more you use them, this is the exact same principle I'm trying to portray. I'm not suggesting full on crash's for a dnf, I don't like that idea I'm talking about mistakes due to pushing loosing a bit of time if you push too hard. Of I'm offended you I apologize this is just my opinion.

In live race, you got push level, boost and tyre strat as weapons, that for me is enough. All of these can make a difference in a race.

Let’s agree to disagree on this cause clearly I don’t like your suggestion and clearly you do. Let’s just say I like to win my races because of a well executed startegy instead of my opponent running wide in the last lap.

That will be all from me. Cheers

I totally understand your view, I just hope the tyre balancing update allows us to a fewore strategies on all tyre choice, if they nail this it wouldn't necessarily need the idea. Happy racing bro 🤟
